The puppy tottered in front of us unaware of the thoughts in the heads of her hoomans. I pretended to be engrossed in her antics but couldn’t ignore the anticipation in the air. It was difficult to ignore something brewing in the head of the man walking with me.

“You know, before the puppy gets adopted and I don’t have any reason to keep seeing you, I’d like to ask you something.”

I looked at him.

“Would you like to go out with me?”

The butterflies erupted. I didn’t have to think twice.

“Yes”, I smiled like a million stars.
